Kyla began playing violin and piano at the age of 4, and she has also been singing since the age of 10. Over the years, she developed her skills further by performing, recording, and studying music and musical theatre at Columbia College Chicago. She gained performance experience by performing with groups such as SYSO, CYSO, the Protege Philharmonic Orchestra, XCEND Show Choir, and Musicality AGT Season 11 semi-finalists. She is an active performer who has performed with Ari Afsar and Miguel Cervantes who were Alexander Hamilton & Eliza Hamilton in Chicago's production of Hamilton, she has performed with Bishop Briggs at Lollapalooza, & she has performed with Jordin Sparks for the event UNICEF Won't Stop. Kyla is trained classically in all areas of her studies, but she is also trained in musical theatre, country, & popular styles of music. Kyla loves teaching music because she has so much knowledge that she wants to share with others. She wants to help other aspiring musicians learn how to express themselves through music. What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons:
I teach classical violin, and students can expect to learn scales, exercises, warm-ups, and repertoire.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons:
Students can expect to learn vocal warm-ups, exercises, vocal health, breathing techniques, singing techniques, and repertoire. I can teach classical, country, pop, and musical theatre styles of singing.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons:
Students can expect to learn scales, finger exercises, proper technique, and repertoire. I can teach classical and popular music, but classical is the foundation for all music. No matter what style of music you want to learn, you will always learn the basics with classical music.
