I began my musical history learning guitar by ear at 13, with the help of other neighborhood kids, taught by their musical parents. Then I continued until the age of 18, when keyboards and synthesizers started to become more popular, and I saw this as a way of being more in demand in the future and switched to studying piano and organ with a private teacher. That was short lived because I could remember the melodies and found it hard to read the page. This would haunt me for many years until I decided to formally study music at local junior and community colleges in the Houston area. I have played many shows throughout my career at festivals, clubs, weddings and a barbecue or two!

Mike did an excellent job instructing my 11 y/o son. He was very patient and made it fun.
First off, Mike is genuinely a pleasant guy and has a passion for teaching music. Lesson started off with him getting a feel for the music I like ,my goals and my experience. Came up with the perfect lesson to get me started working on hand dexterity coordination and keeping a rhythm. Kept it from becoming a chore by teaching some general knowledge about the Bass, putting notes together and music in general. Nothing overwhelming ,just enough. Come back to the exercise and I'm doing a bit better and can start to hear myself actually making music. Great first lesson, I'm more optimistic about being able to learn to play. Just booked more lessons
Great! Mike is really great at relating both to the student and the parents. He really looks to make a lesson "real" by asking the student what they like. He uses lesson time using what the student likes-and my child feels like a Rock Star. Loves taking lessons from Mike!
Mike did a fantastic job. First guitar lesson for my 11y.o. Who loved it! Mike was encouraging, helpful & fun. He is clearly passionate about music and shared this by drawing my daughter in. She felt comfortable trying new things & making mistakes. Mike was able to read her body language and provide frequent breaks. He also changed things up implementing many different approaches. He maintained a positive upbeat message & provided several options for homework/practicing. Looking forward to the next lesson.
It was ok
My daughter really enjoyed the lesson. Mike was awesome !
My daughter has been receiving voice lessons for a month. She really enjoys the lessons and looks forward to them. The instructor is good at both correcting and encouraging. Rough start, just in coordinating a teacher, date, etc, but now that we are up and going, very pleased with choice to stick it through.
Very happy! My twins are doing good and happy with their teacher.
